Mumbai, Aug 2 (IANS) Actress Adrija Roy, who is currently seen playing the role of Raahi in ‘Anupamaa’, has shared her thoughts on building genuine friendships in the entertainment industry.

In an exclusive quote shared with IANS, she revealed that finding people with whom one can build trust and honesty is not always easy in the entertainment industry. Adrija admitted that she does not have many friends from the industry, adding that the competitive nature of the profession often makes it challenging to form deep and lasting bonds. She emphasised that true friendships require time, consistency, mutual respect, and sincerity.

“I don’t have many friends from the industry. I’m not saying it’s impossible to find genuine people here, but it’s definitely not easy. This profession is naturally competitive, and trust takes time to build. Real friendships need honesty, consistency, and mutual respect.”

Adrija added, “I’ve always believed that it’s not about the number of friends you have but the quality of those friendships. My circle is actually quite small, and most of my closest friends are back in Kolkata. They’re not from the entertainment industry—they’re my childhood friends who have known me long before acting became a part of my life. With them, I can be completely myself, and that’s something I truly value.”

On the occasion of Friendship Day, she spoke about the friend who has stood by her through every phase of life. The ‘Kundali Bhagya’ actress shared that some bonds eventually become like family, adding that her relationship with Rimpa is one such special connection.

“She’s more like my sister than my friend. We’ve literally grown up together, and during some of the toughest phases of my life, she never left my side. She didn’t always have to say the right words or solve my problems. She simply stayed. Her constant support, unconditional love, and unwavering belief in me are things I’ll never forget.”

The actress also shared that maintaining relationships amid hectic shooting schedules requires consistent effort. She believes that friendships do not always need big gestures, as a simple phone call, video chat, or even a thoughtful message can help someone feel valued and remembered.

Work-wise, Adrija Roy is best known for her stint in shows like “Potol Kumar Gaanwala,” “Durga Aur Charu,” “Imlie,” and “Kundali Bhagya.”
