Anurag Nalgonda Knights clinched their third consecutive victory by defeating Palamuru Strikers with a comfortable six-wicket win in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s TG20 at the G. M. C. Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad. The Knights’ bowlers, led by Md Arfaz Ahmed and Nishanth Saranu, restricted the Strikers to 148/9. Skipper Rahul Buddhi’s unbeaten 68 off 40 balls guided the Knights to victory with 28 balls to spare, propelling them to the second spot on the points table.
Palamuru Strikers faced early setbacks, losing three wickets in the Power-play. Despite a shaky start, Pragnay Reddy and Rathan Teja’s resilient partnership of 74 runs steadied the Strikers’ innings. However, the Knights’ bowlers, particularly Nishanth, dismantled the partnership in the 18th over, leaving the Strikers struggling at 134/6. With a disciplined performance, the Knights restricted the Strikers to 148/9.
Debutant Jashwanth Mote and Gaurav Reddy provided a solid start to the Knights’ run chase, scoring 21 runs in the initial overs. Although the Strikers fought back by dismissing the openers, skipper Rahul Buddhi’s aggressive fifty, supported by Nitish Reddy, guided the Knights to a convincing victory. Rahul’s innings, comprising seven fours and three sixes, ensured the Knights reached the target with ease.
