Promising young cricketer Anvay Dravid, son of Rahul Dravid, played a crucial innings, scoring 87 runs off 67 balls for India Under-19 against Sri Lanka Under-19. Despite a shaky start with India at 81/4, Anvay, along with Arjun Rajput, built a strong partnership of 145 runs to stabilize the innings.
Anvay displayed aggressive batting, hitting nine boundaries and a six on his way to his first Youth ODI half-century in just 47 deliveries. His innings ended at 263/7 when he was dismissed by Sri Lankan bowler Gimhan Mendis, who took 5 wickets for 41 runs. Following Anvay’s exit, India’s lower order collapsed, and they were eventually bowled out for 285 in 47.2 overs.
Anvay, who led Karnataka in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy and scored 220 runs, is a strong contender for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup. His brother, Samit Dravid, was also part of the India U-19 squad but missed out due to a knee injury. India U-19 is currently leading the three-match series 1-0 after a successful chase in the opening match.
