Apple recognized the app for its accessibility features catering to users with diverse abilities and languages.
The app’s inclusivity category win highlights its commitment to providing a platform that accommodates musicians from various backgrounds. Guitar Wiz leverages Apple technologies such as Dynamic Type and Increased Contrast to enhance user experience for individuals with different needs. Apple praised the app for its intuitive design that supports musicians in playing independently.
Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, Susan Prescott, commended this year’s Apple Design Award winners for their exceptional contributions to user experience. The awards celebrate developers’ innovation and technical achievements across Apple platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. The recognition of Guitar Wiz adds to the growing list of India-origin apps gaining global prominence at the Apple Design Awards.
Several India-linked apps, like Lumy, Denim, EVOLVE, and Meditate, have previously been finalists and winners in various categories at the Apple Design Awards. Apple has also introduced new health-focused features for Indian users, including sleep apnea notifications on Apple Watch and a clinically validated hearing test feature on AirPods Pro.
