Three employees at a jewellery showroom in Telangana’s Karimnagar city were injured during a robbery by armed assailants. The incident involved five gunmen entering the PMJ Jewellery showroom, firing at staff, and fleeing with valuables. The robbers posed as customers, then brandished firearms, shot at the staff, and looted jewellery from display counters before escaping.
The daylight robbery caused panic among staff and customers at the high-end jewellery store. Four staff members sustained gunshot wounds and were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. CCTV footage captured the assailants, two of whom wore caps, wielding weapons and ordering employees, including a security guard, to kneel down and surrender.
Local residents and shopkeepers alerted the police upon hearing gunshots, leading to a swift response by law enforcement. Senior police officials visited the crime scene, initiated an investigation, and collected evidence with the help of forensic teams. A city-wide manhunt was launched to track down the robbers, with police setting up checkpoints at key exit points.
Police Commissioner Ghouse Alam and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar visited the jewellery shop to oversee the situation and coordinate efforts to apprehend the culprits. Kumar, who narrowly missed being present during the incident, assured the public of swift justice and praised the prompt actions of the Karimnagar Police in pursuing leads and analyzing CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
