The Army announced the successful culmination of a 326-day-long operation in the Chatroo area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, resulting in the elimination of seven terrorists. Conducted under challenging high-altitude conditions, the operation involved joint efforts by the Nagrota-headquartered White Knight Corps of the Army.
In a post titled “Elimination of Terrorists,” the Army highlighted the relentless and meticulous nature of the operation, spanning over 326 days in the Kishtwar region. Utilizing advanced technology such as FPV drones, satellite imagery, and communication tools, the forces, in collaboration with JmuKmrPolice and CRPF, successfully tracked and neutralized the terrorists in Chatroo, Kishtwar.
The joint forces, supported by a robust intelligence network, engaged in over a dozen encounters with a group of Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in the densely forested Chatroo area of Kishtwar. Led by JeM commander Saifullah, the terrorists constantly evaded capture by moving across various districts in the Jammu division, ultimately meeting their end at the hands of the determined security forces.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently chaired a security review meeting in Jammu, emphasizing a mission-oriented strategy to eradicate terrorist elements in the hilly regions of Jammu and ensure lasting peace in the union territory.
