The Arunachal Pradesh government has raised the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by two percent for over 1,09,725 government employees and pensioners in the state. This increase, effective from January 1, 2026, brings the rates from 58 percent to 60 percent of basic pay and pension.
Following the Government of India’s decision communicated through office memorandums in April 2026, the state government, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, made this announcement to benefit the employees and pensioners. The enhanced DA will apply to various categories of employees, including All India Service Officers, Central government employees on deputation, and regular state government employees.
Approximately 69,248 regular employees and 40,477 pensioners in Arunachal Pradesh will receive the increased benefits. The total financial implication of this enhancement, including arrears, is estimated at Rs 117.30 crore, with arrears for the period from January to April to be paid in cash.
Chief Minister Khandu commended the government employees, expressing hope that they would continue to serve the people diligently and contribute to the welfare of all citizens.
