Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) highlighted the significant contributions of women in the state’s social, economic, and community spheres. During a meeting with National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, he emphasized the active involvement of Arunachali women in various sectors such as agriculture, entrepreneurship, governance, and social initiatives.
The Governor praised the impactful role of women, particularly in the success of women Self-Help Groups (SHGs), which are instrumental in enhancing livelihoods, fostering financial independence, and uplifting rural communities. Lt. General Parnaik (Retd.) and NCW Chairperson deliberated on issues related to the welfare, safety, empowerment, and socio-economic progress of women in Arunachal Pradesh.
Acknowledging the vital role played by women in anti-drug campaigns, cleanliness drives, health awareness, and the preservation of traditional cultural heritage, the Governor underscored the historical role of women in upholding family values and community harmony across the state’s diverse tribal communities. He stressed the importance of women’s increased participation in education, governance, entrepreneurship, and nation-building for the advancement of a progressive and self-reliant Arunachal Pradesh.
