Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (retd.) highlighted the global significance of yoga, emphasizing its role in promoting holistic health and well-being. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu celebrated the International Day of Yoga in Tawang district with various groups, including school children and armed forces personnel.
Governor Parnaik described yoga as a valuable gift from India to the world, particularly crucial in today’s stress-filled environment. He stressed the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental alertness, and emotional well-being across all age groups, aligning with the UN theme of ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’.
Recognizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in promoting yoga globally, Governor Parnaik distributed a booklet titled ‘Yoga for Common Health Challenges’ to encourage the integration of yoga into daily routines. The event, organized by the Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University (IGTAMSU), aimed to promote wellness and healthy living through yoga demonstrations and discussions.
