Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal expressed concerns over the worsening LPG shortage in India, attributing it to a 50% reduction in domestic production. Kejriwal emphasized the impact on commercial establishments, noting the closure of numerous restaurants due to the crisis.
Kejriwal criticized the Modi government’s foreign policy, alleging a shift from India’s traditional non-aligned stance towards closer ties with the US and Israel. He highlighted the dependence on LPG imports, with 90% passing through the Strait of Hormuz controlled by Iranian forces.
The restaurant and hospitality sector, according to Kejriwal, faces severe repercussions, endangering thousands of jobs and businesses. He accused the government of succumbing to American influence, leading to detrimental policy decisions affecting India’s economy and employment rates.
Kejriwal condemned the alleged subservience of the Indian Prime Minister to the US administration, citing detrimental actions like reducing duty on cotton and halting Russian oil imports. He urged for an independent foreign policy aligned with India’s interests and not dictated by external pressures.
