Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal expressed concern over the recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on AAP members, including Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora. Kejriwal raised doubts about the motives behind these actions and demanded transparency regarding any recovered ‘black money’. He criticized the government for what he called political maneuvers for power.
Sanjeev Arora, a Punjab Cabinet Minister, confirmed an ED raid at his premises and pledged full cooperation with the authorities. The ED conducted searches at multiple locations linked to Arora, Hemanth Sood, and Chandrasekhar Aggarwal under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in various cities. The raids are reportedly related to a money laundering case and alleged land deal irregularities.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the BJP of using ED raids as a strategy for upcoming state elections. He highlighted a pattern of such actions by the BJP and criticized the timing of the raids on politicians. Earlier, similar searches were conducted on AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal and his educational institutions in Haryana and Punjab. The raids have intensified political tensions between the AAP and the Central government.
