Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convenor of AAP and former Delhi Chief Minister, visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and expressed doubts about the FIR filed in a donation embezzlement case, suggesting that influential individuals linked to the issue were receiving protection. Kejriwal, after praying at the temple, stated that the FIR seemed symbolic, with only minor employees being apprehended while higher-ups remained shielded. He planned to hold a press conference later in the day.
During his trip, Kejriwal also paid his respects at the Hanumangarhi temple and recited the Hanuman Chalisa. However, he encountered protests in Ayodhya where a group of sadhus chanted “Go Back” slogans and burned an effigy of him. One protesting sadhu mentioned Kejriwal’s past comments on the construction of the Ram Temple and criticized his visit, questioning his beliefs.
Previously, Kejriwal had raised concerns about the efficacy of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged misappropriation of donations at the temple, labeling it as a facade due to the absence of an FIR at that time. He expressed distress over reports of theft involving valuable items meant for Lord Ram and accused the SIT of shielding prominent figures connected to the theft.
Kejriwal emphasized that the reported theft from the Ram Temple had deeply saddened millions of Hindu devotees, questioning the legitimacy of the SIT and alleging its formation aimed at safeguarding influential figures involved in the case.
