World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka ended her three-match losing streak against Karolina Muchova with a convincing 6-3, 6-4 win in the Brisbane International semifinal, securing a spot in the final and maintaining her unbeaten start to the 2026 season.
Sabalenka, who had struggled against Muchova in previous seasons, took control early in the match by breaking serve in the second game. She showcased a mix of power from the baseline and confident net play, dominating the first set and finishing it in just 37 minutes.
Despite Muchova showing more resistance in the second set and creating break opportunities, Sabalenka stayed strong, breaking in the ninth game to take a 5-4 lead. Although facing pressure while serving for the match, she held her ground and closed out the contest in straight sets.
Sabalenka faced a tough challenge from Muchova towards the end of the match, defending multiple break points with resilience. Despite some late pressure, she managed to secure the victory, maintaining her flawless record in Brisbane and setting up a final clash with either Jessica Pegula or Marta Kostyuk.
