Pacer Ashok Sharma has stepped in for the injured Yudhvir Singh in the India ‘A’ team currently competing in a 50-over tri-series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A in Dambulla. The decision came after Yudhvir reported discomfort in his right shoulder while bowling on June 13, following a similar issue during a fielding session on June 11, as per a statement from the BCCI.
Ashok Sharma, known for his impressive performance in IPL 2026 where he took six wickets in six matches for the Gujarat Titans, has been selected as Yudhvir’s replacement. He gained recognition during the 2025/26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as the leading wicket-taker with 22 wickets in ten matches.
Having recently switched from Rajasthan to Gujarat for the upcoming domestic season, Ashok Sharma is set to play for Gujarat in domestic cricket. This move makes him the second player, after Ravi Bishnoi, to transfer from Rajasthan to Gujarat in the domestic circuit.
Sources have revealed that Ashok Sharma, who previously represented India A in warm-up games before the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, will now play for Gujarat in domestic competitions.
