Assam BJP President and Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia expressed confidence in the state’s accelerated development under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership following the new government’s swearing-in ceremony. Saikia hailed the event as historically significant for Assam and the nation’s political landscape. Saikia reiterated the government’s dedication to serving the people with enhanced efficiency and humility over the next five years. He emphasized Assam’s emergence as a leading state while safeguarding its language, culture, and identity. The BJP leader also reaffirmed the government’s pledge to combat illegal infiltration and ensure the welfare of various sections of society, including youths, women, farmers, and marginalized communities.
Regarding the state Cabinet’s potential expansion, Saikia mentioned ongoing discussions and indicated that Chief Minister Sarma would decide after consulting with party officials. He anticipated the process’s completion before the upcoming Assembly session later this month.
