Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the BJP will reveal its candidate list once the Election Commission schedules the upcoming polls. Sarma assured that the party is well-prepared for the elections and is proceeding with a clear plan. He emphasized that the ruling party’s roadmap will not be affected by developments in the opposition camp.
Sarma mentioned that immediate candidate announcements after the election dates are disclosed will aid in enhancing the party’s grassroots connections and organizational efforts. He also highlighted the importance of not basing electoral readiness on speculation or political unpredictability, urging a focus on governance and public service.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the government’s performance, citing various development projects, infrastructure enhancements, and welfare schemes that have strengthened the bond between the administration and the people, especially in rural and tribal regions. Sarma reiterated that the party’s primary focus remains on development, law enforcement, and the welfare of all societal segments in the lead-up to the elections.
Organizational preparations at the booth level have been finalized in most constituencies, with ongoing reviews of feedback from ground-level workers. Sarma emphasized that candidate selection criteria will prioritize factors such as electability, past performance, and public approval. He dismissed concerns about opposition strategies posing significant challenges, affirming the ruling party’s readiness to secure a renewed mandate based on its work and credibility.
Sarma expressed readiness for the elections whenever they are announced, expressing optimism that the people of Assam will continue to trust the current leadership and its vision for the state’s future.
