Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma responded to Congress’ accusations of poor fiscal management by highlighting that Assam is the best-managed and fastest-growing state, a fact supported by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Sarma defended Assam’s financial practices, stating that the state’s fiscal discipline adheres to all norms and operates under a transparent and rule-based borrowing policy to prevent financial irregularities.
He criticized the opposition’s politically motivated allegations, emphasizing that the RBI’s endorsement of Assam’s financial performance speaks volumes about the state’s financial stability and management.
Sarma also criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government for accumulating substantial loans, contrasting it with Assam’s strong financial growth and development, as recognized by the RBI.
