Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently held discussions with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi to enhance railway infrastructure projects in the state. They assessed the progress of various initiatives, including the expansion of over 1,300 km of railway tracks and the modernization of more than 50 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Chief Minister Sarma shared insights from the meeting on social media, expressing his pleasure in meeting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The focus was on expanding the railway network and upgrading rail infrastructure in Assam to cater to the increasing transportation demands of the region. Discussions also revolved around improving rail connectivity, passenger services, and freight movement to bolster economic growth in Assam and the Northeast.
