Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the implementation of the Seva Setu platform to enhance public service accessibility in the state. Through this initiative, over 800 government services are now available online, streamlining service delivery and ensuring transparency. The platform has successfully processed more than 1.5 crore applications, showcasing its efficiency in serving citizens.
Seva Setu integrates 47 government departments and three Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils into a single digital platform, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices. With a service disposal rate exceeding 90%, the platform has significantly improved the efficiency of public service delivery across Assam. Additionally, it has resolved over 94,000 public grievances, achieving an 86% resolution rate.
In line with the state’s digital governance agenda, Seva Setu is now fully linked with DigiLocker, enabling secure online access and storage of official documents. Moreover, citizens can conveniently access government services through the UMANG mobile application on their smartphones. This initiative aligns with the Digital India vision, focusing on enhancing transparency, efficiency, and citizen-centric services.
The introduction of the Seva Setu platform coincides with the 11th anniversary of the Digital India program, underscoring Assam’s commitment to leveraging technology for improved service delivery and digital governance.
