Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the launch of the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ to showcase the BJP’s 10-year performance ahead of the upcoming Assembly poll. The yatra aims to directly communicate the government’s achievements to the people and emphasize accountability.
Sarma mentioned that the BJP leaders will apologize for any unfinished tasks during the yatra, seeking forgiveness from the public. Additionally, the BJP released three emotionally connecting songs for the campaign, guided by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita.
Rejecting claims of candidate selection based solely on performance reports, Sarma clarified that candidate selection prioritizes winnability. He also highlighted recent incidents of violence against BJP workers during eviction drives in tribal areas.
Sarma defended the BJP government’s policies, stating that social and cultural harmony in Assam would be jeopardized without the BJP in power. He emphasized the importance of the BJP government in upholding the teachings of Gurujana Sankardeva.
The ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ is expected to cover various districts in Assam, with senior BJP leaders and workers engaging directly with citizens in preparation for the upcoming Assembly polls.
