Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is scheduled to embark on a two-day trip to Uttarakhand starting Thursday. During his visit, he plans to engage in a public rally, meet ex-servicemen, and confer with party members and workers. This move by the Congress aims to bolster its organizational structure in preparation for the 2027 Assembly elections in the state.
Gandhi’s itinerary includes a significant public gathering in Almora as his primary event. Anticipated to draw a large crowd of party supporters and locals, this rally signifies a crucial step in the party’s outreach efforts. Subsequently, he will head to Pauri Garhwal to connect with ex-servicemen, addressing their concerns and engaging in dialogue at the Kandoliya Ground.
Security measures have been heightened in light of the visit’s importance, with district authorities, law enforcement, and security agencies on high alert. Stringent security protocols are in place at the venues and surrounding areas to ensure a smooth and secure visit for Gandhi and attendees. Congress state in-charge Kumari Selja emphasized the enthusiasm among the public for Gandhi’s programs in the state, highlighting the significance of his visit.
