Assam’s Directorate of Elementary Education has instructed District Elementary Education Officers to implement the Bhartiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC)-2026 in schools as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The initiative aims to enhance multilingual learning and linguistic diversity among students, aligning with the NEP’s objectives.
District education authorities have been directed to ensure the smooth organization and conduct of the program within their jurisdictions. This initiative, under the NEP 2020, aims to promote the learning and appreciation of various Indian languages, fostering cultural understanding and national integration.
Detailed guidelines and supporting documents have been provided to districts for the camp’s implementation. District officials are tasked with coordinating activities in schools as per the prescribed framework and submitting compliance reports to the state government upon program completion.
The Bhartiya Bhasha Summer Camp is designed to offer students opportunities for language-based activities, interactive learning sessions, and cultural exchanges to raise awareness about India’s linguistic heritage. Aligned with the NEP’s focus on multilingual education, the initiative seeks to generate student interest in India’s diverse linguistic traditions.
The state education department will oversee the program’s progress through reports from districts and schools across Assam.
