The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has released the results of the Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examinations, with an overall pass rate of 81.54% across all streams. Science led the way with 89.79% pass rate, followed by Commerce at 81.13%, Arts at 79.54%, and Vocational at 74.20%. A total of 3,22,723 candidates appeared for the exams this year.
In the Arts stream, Baksa district achieved the highest pass percentage in the state at 94.29%, with Chirang district following closely at 92.99%. The Commerce stream saw 15,796 students passing, with 7,787 in the first division, 5,694 in the second, and 2,315 in the third. For Science, 54,474 candidates succeeded, with 34,079 in the first division, 17,777 in the second, and 2,618 in the third.
In the Vocational stream, 1,465 candidates took the exam, and detailed division-wise data is awaited. The council also disclosed figures on disciplinary actions and absenteeism during the exams, with 190 expulsions for malpractice and 8,075 absentees. The results have brought relief and joy to students and parents, with successful candidates gearing up for further studies and professional programs.
