Assam Jatiya Parishad’s President, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, revealed the party’s initiative to review its performance in the recent Assam Assembly elections. The party is strategizing to enhance its organizational structure and nationalist stance in the state. Despite contesting 10 seats in alliance with Congress, the AJP did not secure any victories during the polls.
Gogoi highlighted the party’s introspection on the election results, emphasizing the need to address organizational weaknesses. He acknowledged the challenges faced by opposition parties, attributing the BJP’s dominance to factors like financial influence and intimidation tactics. The AJP aims to reinforce its regional nationalist agenda, focusing on safeguarding Assam’s cultural and economic interests.
The party is formulating long-term plans to fortify its organizational framework and expand nationalist politics in the region. Gogoi urged the people of Assam to support the AJP and provide constructive feedback. Emphasizing the party’s commitment to Assamese nationalism, he underscored the importance of preserving the state’s identity and ensuring equal rights for all communities.
