Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika criticized Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi for allegedly avoiding key questions and making false statements during a press conference. Hazarika claimed that Gogoi seemed uncomfortable, drank water frequently, and left before answering all questions.
Hazarika accused Gogoi of selectively engaging with the media and allowing only chosen journalists to ask questions. He condemned the treatment of senior journalists and criticized Gogoi for not addressing important queries, expressing disappointment as the Information and Public Relations Minister.
Questioning Gogoi’s explanation about his trip to Pakistan, Hazarika raised concerns about the specifics of his travel, including visits to Takshashila and Rawalpindi. He disputed Gogoi’s claim that his wife received only one month’s salary from Pakistani institutions, alleging that she actually received over Rs 80 lakh.
Hazarika emphasized the importance of addressing the media’s inquiries honestly and accused Gogoi of evading crucial questions. The Congress party has not yet responded to these allegations, highlighting the escalating tensions between the BJP and Congress in Assam.
