As the vote counting in Assam progresses, State Minister Ashok Singhal stated on Monday that the BJP is poised to win the Assembly elections with a significant majority. Singhal emphasized the importance of this outcome, noting that it comes with a “great responsibility.” He expressed confidence in the electorate’s choice for development and assured that the new government would swiftly work towards fulfilling its election promises.
Singhal highlighted the voters’ focus on tangible results and their expectations for effective governance. He mentioned the strong support from the younger generation for the BJP’s development agenda, contrasting it with what he described as the Congress’ political approach. The Minister observed a clear shift towards governance centered on growth and performance based on the election results.
Pointing out the BJP’s developmental achievements over the past five years, Singhal mentioned the party’s plans for further progress in Assam. He stated that the government is prepared to execute these plans to meet the public’s aspirations effectively. The Assembly elections in Assam, held on April 9, witnessed a high voter turnout of 85.96% from a voter base exceeding 2.50 crore.
