Administrative action in Dhandhuka town of Ahmedabad district escalated as authorities initiated a demolition drive against illegal structures and cut off electricity to two accused historysheeters following recent violence. Bulldozers were used to clear encroachments, and power supply to the residences of Shabbir Chopda and Imtiyaz Pathan was disconnected. Legal action under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003, is in progress.

Ahmedabad Rural DySP Aastha Rana mentioned that the ongoing demolition drive is supported by a significant police presence. The action against the accused individuals included cutting off their electricity supply, with further measures expected. Various departments, including Roads and Buildings, revenue authorities, and the police, participated in the operation.

A large police contingent was deployed as multiple agencies collaborated to remove encroachments in Dhandhuka town. The security measures transformed parts of the town into controlled zones, with focus areas including the railway station to the Ranpur crossroads and the Khatkiwad region. The demolition drive targeted around 15 to 20 illegal structures associated with history sheeters.

The administrative actions followed the fatal stabbing of Dharmesh Gamara, leading to unrest and property damage in Dhandhuka. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the murder, and over 20 people were detained for their involvement in the violence. Authorities registered FIRs for murder and rioting, with a Special Investigation Team formed to investigate the incidents. The situation is now reported to be under control, with normalcy gradually returning to the town.
