Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have reported significant progress in the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, a campaign aimed at curbing drug-related activities. Over the course of 50 days, 1,018 alleged drug peddlers have been apprehended, 341 kilograms of narcotics seized, and assets worth over Rs 200 crore targeted.
This initiative, described as one of the largest anti-narcotics operations in the region, has seen the registration of 923 FIRs and the arrest of 1,018 individuals involved in narcotics offenses. Enforcement agencies have confiscated various narcotic substances, including a substantial amount of heroin, along with psychotropic tablets and capsules.
In addition to arrests, preventive measures under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act have led to the detention of 55 individuals associated with drug trafficking. Financial crackdown efforts have resulted in the attachment and demolition of drug-linked properties, totaling over Rs 83 crore.
