Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, marking 11 years of ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’, shared his cherished scene from the movie on Instagram. The clip features a moment where characters, played by Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, communicate through old songs despite not speaking to each other. This musical exchange leads to a comic sequence in the film.
In a heartfelt caption, Ayushmann expressed his admiration for the scene, highlighting how music can convey emotions when words fall short. ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’, directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, is set in 1995 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The story revolves around an arranged marriage between a small-town cassette shop owner and an educated, overweight woman.
The film, released on February 27, 2015, marked Bhumi Pednekar’s acting debut, for which she underwent a significant physical transformation. With music by Anu Malik and lyrics by Varun Grover, the song ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ was highly acclaimed. ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ not only won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 63rd National Film Awards but also achieved success at the box office.
