A series of seminars aimed at enhancing dialogue and cooperation in key sectors in Gujarat followed the inauguration of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference at Marwadi University in Rajkot by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One of the sessions focused on the theme “Building a Future-Ready Fisheries Sector in Gujarat,” bringing together fish exporters and entrepreneurs to discuss various aspects such as fishing practices, technology adoption, export strategies, and challenges faced by the sector.
During the conference, a Fish Supplier Company signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 11.49 crore, signaling a growing commitment to bolster Gujarat’s fisheries industry. The event saw the presence of top officials including the Agriculture Department Additional Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Solanki, Fisheries Department Commissioner Vijay Kharadi, and representatives from various organizations and entrepreneurs.
After the inauguration, the Prime Minister toured the extensive exhibition covering 18,000 square meters, where he acknowledged the contributions of leading organizations like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Essar towards the nation’s economic progress. He also praised Gujarat’s industrial growth and technological advancements, particularly showing interest in the potential of the coastal regions of Saurashtra and Kutch showcased at the ‘Ocean of Opportunities’ Pavilion.
