At least three Baloch civilians have allegedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan province, as reported by a human rights organization. These incidents are part of a concerning trend of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the region. One of the victims, a 40-year-old teacher named Ali Ahmed Reki, was reportedly taken by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department on January 24 in Quetta, with no information on his whereabouts since then.

The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department, known as Paank, has condemned these abductions. They also highlighted the cases of a 25-year-old doctor, Shahzain Ahmed, and a 22-year-old student, Junaid Ahmed, both allegedly abducted on the same day in Surab district. The Baloch Students Organisation (BSO) Azad has reached out to international human rights organizations, raising concerns about the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan, particularly on Baloch Genocide Day.

The BSO Azad emphasized the systematic oppression faced by Baloch civilians, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and collective punishment under what they describe as Pakistan’s “colonial rule” in Balochistan. They have called for independent international investigations into these violations and urged global human rights bodies to address these issues at international platforms like the United Nations.
