Sammi Deen Baloch from the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has accused Pakistani authorities of conducting a systematic campaign to undermine the organization by creating a negative image of it. She highlighted that the BYC is actively resisting state oppression, which the authorities are trying to suppress without being held accountable. Various tactics, such as pressuring individuals to speak against the BYC, are being employed to weaken the organization, targeting not only its members but also their families and supporters.
Emphasizing the national significance of the BYC as a movement representing the Baloch people, Sammi pointed out that its leadership is currently facing imprisonment and hardships. She expressed concerns about individuals being coerced and manipulated to support the state’s narrative, warning that yielding to such pressure would only perpetuate future intimidation. Sammi urged people not to succumb to such tactics and to stand against efforts aimed at undermining the BYC.
Addressing the people of Balochistan, Sabiha Baloch, a central leader of the BYC, drew attention to the escalating humanitarian crisis in the province designed to erase the Baloch identity. She condemned the displacement of Baloch people from their ancestral lands, attributing the oppression by Pakistani authorities to the Baloch people’s rightful claim to their heritage. Sabiha highlighted cases of Baloch women who have been forcibly disappeared, including individuals like Mahjabeen, Nasreen, Haseena, Khadija, and Hair-un-Nisa, stressing that they were taken without any proven criminal charges.
Sabiha warned that remaining silent and inactive in the face of such injustices would stain the history of Balochistan. She called on the people to raise their voices, take action, and resist the ongoing suppression, emphasizing that the time to act is now and not to remain silent.
