Over 20 Baloch civilians, including women and minors, lost their lives in Balochistan’s Nushki and Kharan districts due to direct firing by Pakistani security forces, as per the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). The victims, including Atta Ullah, Shahzaib Baloch, and Hassan Basri, were identified by the human rights organization. Among the injured were Nisa Khatoon and Ameen Ullah, who were allegedly shot on February 13.

A tragic incident unfolded near Cadet College in Nushki where Pakistani security forces fired upon a passenger vehicle, resulting in around 10 civilian deaths. Another distressing event involved an ambulance carrying a female patient being targeted and shot at, causing six casualties, including the driver. BYC reported drone strikes by Pakistan in various areas of Nushki since January 31, leading to casualties like three-year-old Deedag.

BYC highlighted a grave deterioration in human rights across Nushki and Kharan in February, marked by enforced disappearances, civilian shootings, alleged drone strikes, property demolitions, detentions, communication blackouts, curfews, and movement restrictions. The organization expressed concern over the escalating enforced disappearances, with families being threatened by authorities not to speak out, leading to widespread fear and insecurity in the community.
