The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has reaffirmed its stance of not participating in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India due to security concerns. In a recent video conference with the International Cricket Council (ICC), the BCB reiterated its request for relocating its matches outside India despite the tournament schedule being finalized. Both parties have agreed to continue discussions to find a possible solution.
During the meeting, the BCB delegation, including President Md Aminul Islam and other key officials, emphasized their commitment to player and staff safety. The ICC acknowledged the logistical challenges involved in relocating matches and urged the BCB to reconsider its decision. However, the BCB remains firm on its position, citing safety as the top priority.
The BCB’s unwavering stance on not traveling to India for the T20 World Cup 2026 has led to ongoing discussions with the ICC to address the issue. With the tournament fast approaching, any changes to the schedule seem unlikely at this point. The ICC is expected to make a final decision on the matter in the near future.
