As External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar concluded his brief visit to Dhaka, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to India, Riaz Hamidullah, highlighted the potential for enhancing Bangladesh-India ties based on shared interests and mutual interdependence. Expressing optimism for stronger ties, Hamidullah emphasized the importance of pragmatism in shaping the relationship between Bangladesh and India. Jaishankar’s visit to Dhaka was primarily to attend the funeral of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, where he extended condolences on behalf of the Indian government to Rahman.
