The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secured 209 out of 299 seats in the recent elections, with the Jamaat-e-Islami party winning 68 seats. Roy expressed a commitment to upholding justice and security for all citizens, irrespective of their religious beliefs. He highlighted the shared priorities of communities in Bangladesh, including education, healthcare, security, and religious freedom.

Roy commended Modi’s gesture, emphasizing the importance of recognizing elected governments and upholding democratic practices.
