The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has faced accusations of hindering the return of Bangladeshi nationals to their country. Approximately 10 individuals from Bangladesh were stranded at the zero line on the India-Bangladesh border for two days before being taken to a holding center in Jalpaiguri district on Monday.

Allegedly, these Bangladeshi nationals were stopped by BGB personnel while trying to cross the border fencing back into Bangladesh over the past two days. Despite their citizenship, they were reportedly not allowed to enter Bangladesh and were detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday.

The detained individuals, including two families, were transferred to the holding center, with plans for their return to Bangladesh in accordance with legal procedures. The recent change in government in West Bengal has led to a stricter approach towards illegal infiltrators, prompting an increase in Bangladeshi nationals seeking to go back home.
