The Press Secretary of Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus reiterated that the Awami League party will not be permitted to participate in the upcoming Bangladesh election in February. The party’s activities are suspended, as confirmed by Shafiqul Alam at a press briefing in Dhaka. This decision follows a letter from US lawmakers expressing concerns about the exclusion of a political party from the electoral process.
Former Member of Parliament A F M Bahauddin Nasim accused the Yunus-led interim government of fostering violence and chaos in Bangladesh. Nasim, also an Awami League official, criticized the government for alleged human rights violations and suppression of democratic freedoms. He highlighted the ongoing unrest and attacks on political and religious groups in the country.
Nasim, who fled to India following political changes in Bangladesh, raised concerns about alleged ties between the Yunus government and Pakistan. He criticized the government’s economic policies, suggesting a shift in trade dynamics favoring Pakistan. Nasim emphasized the need to uphold Bangladesh’s independence and resist external influences on the nation’s sovereignty.
