La Liga champions Barcelona have finalized the acquisition of Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. Adeyemi, a 24-year-old forward, has inked a five-year contract with Barcelona ahead of the upcoming season. The talented player, born in Munich to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, offers versatility and speed to Barcelona’s attacking lineup.
Adeyemi, who can play on the wing or as a center-forward, has amassed 36 goals and 24 assists in 146 appearances for Dortmund across various competitions. Prior to joining Dortmund, he showcased his skills at Red Bull Salzburg, scoring 33 goals and providing 24 assists in 94 matches. His journey also includes stints at Bayern and Unterhaching before moving to Austria at the age of 16 in 2018.
Having earned 11 caps for the German national team, Adeyemi made his debut under Barcelona’s current head coach Hansi Flick. Despite missing out on the World Cup squad, Adeyemi aims to make a significant impact at Barcelona following a break during the summer and a full pre-season preparation. His departure from Dortmund was marked by gratitude towards the club, teammates, and fans for their support.
