Barmer police intensified their crackdown on narcotics trafficking and organized crime by demolishing an allegedly illegal house owned by a key accused in an MD drug manufacturing case. The operation, part of ‘Operation Clean,’ was a joint effort by the police, district administration, and revenue department. The house, located in Singhar village, was reportedly built through encroachment on government land.
Authorities, under the direction of Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma and the Inspector General of Police, Jodhpur Range, razed the permanent residential structure. The property belonged to Arbab Khan, son of Musa Khan, a previous arrestee in an NDPS Act case related to an illegal MD drug manufacturing unit. Arbab Khan’s son, Karim Khan, who is also wanted in the case, is currently under police surveillance.
The accused allegedly constructed a luxurious residence on government land through illegal encroachment. Following the identification of the encroachment, a formal proposal for demolition was submitted to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. The demolition was carried out with the use of JCB machines and bulldozers in the presence of a joint police and administrative team.
Barmer’s Superintendent of Police Chunaram Jat emphasized that the district police will continue to take strict actions against drug traffickers and criminals involved in organized crime. The focus is not only on apprehending offenders but also on identifying and seizing assets acquired through illicit means.
