BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia mentioned that the International Cricket Council has not updated them on the potential venue change for Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup matches. Bangladesh had requested moving their games to Sri Lanka due to security concerns amid tensions with India. While the ICC is exploring alternative venues, including Chennai and Trivandrum, the final decision remains pending.
Saikia clarified that the BCCI has not been informed about any venue changes. He emphasized that the communication regarding this matter lies between the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the ICC. As per the current schedule, Bangladesh is slated to play matches in Kolkata and Mumbai before potentially shifting to Chennai or another venue.
The BCCI secretary highlighted that until the ICC communicates any alterations, the BCCI will not intervene. The host board will act accordingly once a decision is conveyed. As of now, the BCCI remains unaware of any official changes in venue for Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup fixtures.
