The Income Tax Department introduced a new website named ‘Kar Saathi’ to simplify tax processes for users. This platform consolidates direct tax information for easy access and enhanced user experience. ‘Kar Saathi’, an AI-powered assistant, aims to guide taxpayers through their queries and procedures efficiently.

The newly launched Income Tax website is designed for easy navigation and swift usage, offering a centralized hub for tax-related information. Through ‘Kar Saathi’, taxpayers can receive assistance and support in their direct tax matters. This initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to modernize tax administration and enhance user convenience using technology.

As part of this modernization drive, an AI chatbot named Kar Saathi will be available round-the-clock on the Income Tax Department’s website to aid taxpayers. The launch of ‘PRARAMBH’, an outreach program, emphasized the importance of a smooth transition to the new Income Tax Act, 2025. This program aims to introduce digital services gradually to establish a seamless and technology-driven tax system.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Ravi Agrawal highlighted the significance of PRARAMBH in simplifying India’s tax administration. The transition to the new tax framework focuses on streamlining processes, reducing rules from 510 to 333, and minimizing forms from 399 to 190. These changes are expected to enhance compliance and eliminate the need for over six crore transactions.
