Hollywood actor Ben Affleck shared that he suffered from food poisoning while filming a poignant farewell scene with co-star Bruce Willis in the 1998 hit movie “Armageddon.” Affleck disclosed to Fox 32 Chicago that he had to endure the illness during the shoot and even vomited between takes as he felt too unwell to request a break.
The particular scene involved Affleck’s character bidding farewell to Willis’ character as he sacrifices himself to detonate a bomb to avert an asteroid collision with Earth. Directed by Michael Bay, the star-studded cast of the disaster film included Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler, and others. Despite mixed reviews, “Armageddon” emerged as the top-grossing film of 1998.
Reflecting on the movie, Affleck mentioned meeting co-star Steve Buscemi at a recent premiere, triggering a flood of memories from their time working together. The actor described the experience of filming “Armageddon” as peculiar, wonderful, and almost surreal, reminiscing about the unique bond they shared during the production.
