Bengaluru Blasters emerged victorious in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 league phase, defeating Gulbarga Mystics by 11 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This win also confirmed Coastal Kings Mangaluru as the third team to advance to the playoffs, alongside Bengaluru Blasters and Shivamogga Yodhas. Mysore Warriors and Gulbarga Mystics are still in contention for the final playoff spot.
Rohan Patil, Wahid Faizan Khan, and Shubhang Hegde played crucial roles for the Blasters, helping them score 176/8 in 20 overs. The Mystics were restricted to 165-8, thanks to two-wicket hauls from Rohan Raju, Vidwath Kaverappa, and Nischith Rao.
In the second innings, Kaverappa and Rao’s impressive bowling performance rattled the Mystics’ top order, leaving them struggling at 24-4 in 3.2 overs. Thippa Reddy’s resilient innings for the Mystics, including a quick half-century, kept them in the game despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
As the match reached a crucial stage, Kranthi Kumar’s valiant effort for the Mystics, scoring 53 off 36 balls, added excitement. However, the Blasters held their nerve to secure the win, with Patil’s all-round performance and Hegde’s late flourish ensuring a competitive total.
