Bengaluru FC has kicked off their pre-season preparations for the upcoming 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) season. Head coach Pep Munoz is gearing up for his first full season in charge after taking over midway through the previous season. The team has welcomed two new players, Spanish midfielder Borja Martinez and Portuguese defender Sandro Embalo, who are set to join the squad after completing visa formalities.
Munoz emphasized the importance of a full pre-season to set the stage for the new campaign. He expressed excitement about the potential of the squad for the upcoming season. Having assumed leadership during the latter part of the 2025-26 ISL season, Munoz guided Bengaluru FC to a fourth-place finish, showcasing promising results despite limited time with the team.
In their preparations, Bengaluru FC will head to the Inspire Institute of Sport in Ballari for a pre-season training camp from July 27 to 30. The players will undergo rigorous physical assessments and fitness tests to gear up for the challenges ahead. Director of Football Darren Caldeira highlighted the significance of an extended pre-season in building fitness and team cohesion before the start of competitive matches.
