The Bengaluru Milk Union Limited (BAMUL) President, D.K. Suresh, announced the supply of 2 lakh kg of Nandini ghee monthly to the Tirumala Tirupati temple for the next six months. This initiative, worth Rs 136 crore, involves daily supply of 12.5 tonnes of ghee to Tirupati. The ghee will be transported using digital lock technology to ensure quality standards.
Suresh emphasized the importance of the blessings from Tirupati’s deities in Nandini’s success. He also mentioned the implementation of strict measures against misuse of the Nandini brand in the market. Responding to queries about potential price hikes, Suresh clarified that there are no current plans to increase milk prices in Karnataka. He highlighted the focus on delivering quality products and addressing cost-related challenges.
The BAMUL President highlighted the organization’s commitment to quality and announced plans to introduce more value-added dairy products. He praised the Kanakapura Mega Dairy Plant for its consistent excellence in food safety. Suresh expressed the aim to leverage technology for delivering high-quality products and meeting market demands. Additionally, he discussed the increase in milk supply during the monsoon period and the focus on selling value-added dairy products.
Suresh detailed the preparations made for the ghee supply tender, emphasizing the importance of storage capacity. He mentioned ongoing efforts to boost milk production through training programs and initiatives to enhance product quality to international standards. The organization is exploring new products such as indigenous breed milk, fat-free milk, lactose-free milk, and probiotic curd to meet evolving market demands.
