Bhai Behla Hockey Academy Bhagta and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy emerged victorious in their Pool B matches during the 4th Hockey India Junior Women Academy Championship 2026 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Bhai Behla Hockey Academy Bhagta defeated Mumbai Schools Sports Association 4-0, with Deepa Upadhyay, Jaskarndeep Kaur, Dewika, and Punita scoring for their team. In another Pool B match, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy dominated Ritu Rani Hockey Academy with a 9-0 win, led by Tanvi, Priyanshi Bhanwar, and Sujata Jayant among others.
Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy, along with other teams, had earlier secured convincing victories in their respective Pool A and Pool B matches on the tournament’s opening day. The championship, featuring 12 academy teams divided into two pools, will run until August 3, culminating in the top teams from each pool vying for the title. The tournament format includes league matches, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the semi-finals on August 2, followed by the final matches on August 3.
The tournament follows a league format during the pool stage, with teams earning points based on wins, draws, or losses. In case of tied contests in classification matches, a shoot-out will determine the winner as per FIH Tournament Regulations.
