Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has called for an apology from Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for using offensive language towards its leaders during a discussion in the State Legislative Assembly. The Chief Minister, in response to a debate on Krishna waters, directed inappropriate remarks at BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and BRS deputy leader T. Harish Rao.
Harish Rao criticized the Chief Minister for his use of disrespectful and vulgar language, highlighting the contradiction in condemning abusive language while engaging in it himself. He emphasized the need for Revanth Reddy to apologize for his derogatory language, specifically the term ‘Bhadwe’ (pimps) used in the Assembly, which he deemed unfit for a democratic setting.
The BRS leader condemned the Chief Minister’s behavior as uncivilized and unacceptable in a democratic society. He expressed disappointment in the Speaker’s failure to intervene as the Chief Minister resorted to using offensive language. The BRS MLAs were absent from the Assembly due to the party’s boycott of the winter session, citing dissatisfaction with the Speaker’s alleged biased conduct.
Harish Rao further criticized Revanth Reddy for taking credit for the stay granted by the National Green Tribunal on the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation project, attributing it to BRS’s legal efforts. He dismissed Revanth’s claims regarding the Palamuru Rangareddy Project as baseless, highlighting delays in project initiation by previous governments. Harish Rao questioned the Congress’s right to criticize BRS, given their historical delays in project implementation.
The BRS leader accused Revanth Reddy of lacking knowledge on irrigation issues, citing instances where BRS intervention led to positive outcomes in water allocation matters. He emphasized that the Assembly’s proceedings exposed Revanth’s limited understanding of irrigation, underscoring the importance of BRS’s advocacy efforts.
