Akshay Kumar and Tabu’s highly anticipated horror comedy Bhooth Bangla has officially received a new release date. The film, directed by Priyadarshan, will now hit theatres on May 15, 2026, instead of its previously announced April 2 date.
Balaji Motion Pictures announced the revised schedule on social media with the message, “Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai! The doors open on 15th May 2026.”
The film has been postponed by over a month from its original release date.

Bhooth Bangla marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Tabu after a gap of 25 years. The actors previously collaborated on popular films including Hera Pheri and Tu Chor Main Sipahi. The film features late actor Asrani in a significant role. In an interview with India Today, director Priyadarshan reflected on working with Asrani during his final days. “He was in my last two films, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’. He is playing a very big role in both films,” Priyadarshan shared, noting that these became Asrani’s last film projects, shot over six months.
