Samrat Choudhary, the Chief Minister of Bihar, addressed concerns about compensating farmers whose land might be acquired for a township project. He assured that affected individuals would not face financial losses. Choudhary explained that those experiencing hardships could seek assistance through applications to the District Magistrate.
Compensation, set at four times the standard rate, will be directly deposited into the landowner’s bank account after verification. The ‘Sahyog Shivir’ initiative, aimed at ensuring quick grievance redressal, was inaugurated in the Sonepur block. Choudhary emphasized the program’s goal of providing timely justice to citizens and resolving issues efficiently.
The Chief Minister mandated a 30-day resolution period for all applications received at these camps. He warned of automatic suspension for officials failing to meet the deadline. Choudhary highlighted the introduction of the ‘Sahyog Portal’ and a helpline (1100) to streamline complaint registration. Moving forward, similar camps will be held in every panchayat in Bihar on specific Tuesdays each month.
